Using Search and Filters
The
website has two "search" capabilities to help you find information. You
have a free text search displayed on each page of the website and you
have a special "filtering" feature on the calendar. The free text search
allows you to type in words, such as “sermons” or “an event name”, and
finds any reference to that word or words in the database. This can be
very helpful for looking for information quickly without paging through
the various pull down menus and links embedded in the website. For
example, if you're looking for any information about a teacher, try
typing the teacher’s last name in the search field. As the site grows,
you'll see contact information, biographies, class and homework
assignments and much more associated with the teacher. As you get used
to "searching" try using special terms like and, or and not to refine your searches.
The calendar
also has a search feature to reduce the amount of information displayed
to you. The filters are based on "activities" we have at TBE. For
example, if you have a child in the K-5 grades and you want to search
and display only the K-5 events, just click the pull-down menu on the
right side of the activities box and choose the filter Grades K-5. The
calendar will display only the events and activities for Grade K-5.
Please note: there may be events that require you to look at multiple
activities. Please try more than one filter. It's a difficult task to
anticipate everyone's needs and we'll get better with our categorization
overtime.
Using these "search" features should help you find the information you want quickly and easily.
